No additional software is required  just Internet access and an email account. Faxes can be sent via your email client or from the web, by logging into your MyFax.com account. Faxes sent to you arrive in your email inbox or can be picked  up by logging into MyFaxCentral.com account.

While it's not neccessary, the MyFax Send Fax Plug-in can be installed. This add-in for Microsoft Outlook places a Send Fax button on the toolbar, for easy email faxing and allows you to tap into your existing Outlook address book.
