Finding a Cheap Internet Faxing Service

There have been times when working from home, that I've needed a fax machine.  My printer works great for faxing information from my home office to somewhere else, however, that wasn't the problem.  The problem started with receiving a fax.

For me to receive a fax on my printer at home, firstly I needed to know a fax was coming in.  Then, I had to unplug my phone and plug in the fax machine and hope that no phone calls came in during the faxing. If this was ever the case, I would then have to go through the tedium of calling the sender and ask them to send the fax again.

This whole process became embarrassing (not to mention frustrating) as again and again, I would have to call the sender and ask them to resend a few pages here and there.  People were becoming irritated, to say the least.

Frazzled by the experience, I decided to go online in search of a cheap Internet faxing service and mercifully I found one.  What I like about the service I chose is that I have a set amount of storage space online where my faxes can go until I retrieve them.  I also have the option of leaving them in the storage or moving them to my computer.

The great thing about this system is I didn't even have to have it up and running.  I am able to simply go about my day with my email open and the faxes are delivered directly into my email box.  I can read them or save them to my computer, but even if I lose them, my cheap Internet faxing service holds a copy on their server in my storage space.  Therefore, I can retrieve them whenever I need them.

A word of caution, if you decide to use a cheap internet faxing service, watch out for any hidden costs.  For instance, I thought I had to pay per fax.  I don't receive many, but when I need to receive one, I don't want to have to go through the whole trouble of calling back and forth and being ready.  At any rate, after a month, I was being charged around $15 for the service.  I didn't realize there was a monthly charge.

Furthermore, after so many pages received, I am charged a page fee by the online faxing services chosen.  This means I have a limit on what I am allowed to receive before it could get quite expensive.

Other than the hidden costs, however, I love having the service.  I find that it is worth it to have.
